Visit and tour of The Keep county historical archives. July 12th at 10am If you are new to history research, or even a seasoned campaigner, this backstage tour of the county archives will inspire you to dig deeper. Led by Suzanne Rose, University of Sussex.
Using Ancestry to research your family tree. July 19th at 10am. Using Ancestry can be confusing and frustrating. This one-hour course will set you on your way with simple tips and research techniques to trace your family tree or house history on Ancestry, plus other on-line resources. Led by Amber Shepherd, local amateur history researcher.

Portslade Science Fair on 5th July 2025 at 11am-3pm near Easthill Park Cafe, Portslade. A free, outdoor event run by researchers at the University of Sussex. Their aim is to spark excitement in a range of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) topics with activities and demonstrations. See the sun through a special solar telescope, extract DNA from fruit, see the robot hand plus more science based activities. For more information go to sussex.ac.uk/portsladesciencefair
Cake baking sessions for kids for 6-11 year olds. Free baking classes for kids at the Easthill Park Community Cafe. Children will have the opportunity to bake and creatively decorate their own cupcakes under the supervision of experienced instructors. Date left: July 12th 1pm to 2pm . (8 spaces per session.)
Children's art classes - For 6-11 year olds Classes are led by instructors from Cygnet's Brighton Art School. Dates: July 26th, August 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, or 30th or September 13th. Midday to 1pm. Only 10 spaces available per session. Booking essential via the cafe

The Friends of Vale Park will once again be running their lovely and popular Art in the Park event at Vale Park, Portslade on Saturday 12th July 2025 11am-1pm. FREE. All materials supplied. Come along for this lovely, relaxing activity and maybe even meet some of your neighbours!

You can now bring your swaps with you to each event and they will be exchanged for tokens whilst you browse and enjoy a cuppa. Entry includes tea, coffee and biscuits. Shoreham
Shoreham Star Trail is a film character hunt around Shoreham town centre. Saturday 19th July, 10am to 1pm, East Street, Shoreham-By-Sea. All families that complete the trail will be entered into a prize draw! To register, email info@adurspecialneedsproject.org.uk, or just turn upon the day. Event entry is £5.00 for up to 2 children accompanied by 1 or 2 adults. Open to children and adults of all ages. As well as the Star Trail there will also be face painting and a raffle.
Southwick
Southwick Classic Car Show supporting Save Madeira Terraces on Sunday 13th July at Champion House, 9 Southdown Road, BN42 4FT. £5 raffle, bar, food, table top sale and enjoy the fab cars, of course. Free to come in - the kids will enjoy it too.

- Junior Adventures is for children (age 6-12) where parents pay by card or childcare voucher.
- HAF Adventures is for children (age 6-16) on Benefit related Free School Meals - the council pay.
- SEND Adventures is a 1:1 provision for children (age 6-16) with an EHCP or recognised SEND - the council pay
- Leadership Adventures (age 13-16)is where parents pay by card or childcare voucher.

BEE WILD HOLIDAY CLUB. A woodland kindergarten site at Foredown Woods, open for children from 4-8 years old during the school holidays. Starts 9.30am-3pm for a day of adventure and play in nature, nurtured by Forest School practitioners. For cooking over a campfire, making friends, learning new skills, getting muddy, getting active and getting creative in the fresh air. Please note, at the moment the spaces for 3-year-olds are only available to children who already attend the kindergarten. All children aged 4 - 8 are welcome.
